Our inspiration for opening the Urban Mensch came after looking for quality Jewish art for our own home. While searching the web, we discovered that many Judaica sites had a limited selection of contemporary Jewish art. After a great deal of research, we were pleasantly surprised to find many exceptional artists committed to creating modern Judaic art. We felt inspired to create a single website in which to showcase the best of what is available, and to share these works of art with Jewish people everywhere.
We can help you celebrate Jewish holidays with exquisite table art for Hanukkah, Passover, and Rosh Hashanah. Celebrate Shabbat in style with contemporary challah boards, kiddush cups, Shabbat candle holders, and havdalah sets. We carry an excellent selection of Jewish ritual art objects including tzedakah boxes, mezuzzot and Jewish memorial holders.
For the Jewish wedding, we offer standard and custom ketubahs, along with gifts ranging from fine Judaic art to ritual objects. For the little mensch, we carry children’s kiddush cups, children’s mezuzzot, Jewish children’s art, and a wide selection of children’s menorahs, including ballerina menorahs and sports menorahs.
For bar/bat mitzvah celebrations, we offer a fine range of Jewish gifts in various price points, including commissioned Jewish art for these special occasions.
